taking a step back

This week, I have found myself struggling to get into the headspace to properly meditate. And that is ok. To fully be present in your practice, and be able to focus enough to get into the “zone” of meditation, you must be motivated to do so.

I found I was struggling this week with everything I needed to get done, to find the purpose and time to meditate. I told this to my friend (who is a yoga teacher, and BIG into meditation). She suggested that it might be beneficial if we light a few candles, put on some quiet, calming music, and just sit in the darkness of her room for at least five minutes, while she guided meditation for us both. This really helped me to calm down, and get back into the spirit of my practice. It also reminded me to be grateful for all the lovely and beautiful people I have in my life who can help me to just chill and relax when I need it most.

This week if you pull anything from my blog, focus on the idea that it is ALWAYS ok to take a step back, and perhaps ask for help from someone who loves and cares about you!
